When you say Michelin restaurant, this is now what I expect. It is pricey, but this once in a rare while experience is worth the price and the recognition. Wonderful courses (adding a few photos) with truly inventive creations - all very approachable. Sometimes a little editing may be good (one dish hit me over the head with acidity, and one had so many elements it was maybe too much - I might have to try it again to say for sure), but delightful all the same.

The service, ridiculously good. From understanding the wine's origins, to where they arrive at your table (always from the corner it seemed), it is all intentional. It's what you expect, and Causa delivers.

I hope to go back, but so grateful for the visit I made.

This was my first time at a Michelin star restaurant and it did not disappoint. I reserved the tasting menu downstairs at Causa and it was one of the best meals I have experienced. I highly recommend springing for the wine pairing, the caviar and the black truffles. The team provided impeccable service and were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the menu and cocktails - there is so much love and care for what they do. Bring a spare pair of panties with you because it is just that good y’all!

Came here with my partner to try the six course tasting at Causa for my birthday after seeing it on the 2023 Michelin list (the experience lasted almost 3 hours). There’s an outdoor paid parking lot across the street. Cuisine was Nikkei style (Japanese influence on Peruvian cuisine). Each dish tasted great and presentation was on point, everything was super fresh and sourced with the finest ingredients. We had two main servers who brought out some of the dishes, and other servers brought the rest. Each dish was preceded by an explanation of the ingredients- service was fantastic, servers were attentive, friendly, informative, and prompt. It was more like a 10 course meal as there are two rounds of appetizers before the 6 courses, and palate cleanser (a delicious pisco ice with Harry’s berries on top- so refreshing) prior to dessert. They also surprised me with a card, candle, and assorted candies after the dessert. Only thing I wasn’t a huge fan of was how small Causa is inside, not many good spots for photo ops- also personally prefer a more elegant ambience- the look was more on the cozy hole-in-the wall casual side. Definitely recommend this spot if you’re a foodie!

Recommend - entrusted our server, Benjamin to order, explain, and select our five courses which included cold, dry aged and hot foods. Included fish, meat, grains and sauces. Truly the best tasting food and dinner experience of our lives! So glad we trusted the staff and amazing Chef to make the selections as everything was perfect and the flavors and textures were incredible. We can’t get over how great the food and service and entire staff was! Brilliant and original! We will be back.

Visited Causa for the first time in April after three trips to Amazonia. Causa definitely feels like the older more bookwormy brother to vibey Amazonia (though the Causa playlist was a hit at our table).

Every bite at Causa was tasty and beautifully presented. The wine pairing was generous and interesting. The service was attentive and knowledgeable.

For those familiar with Peruvian cuisine already: The pronunciation of many many Spanish words on the menu was butchered but cover your ears, don’t be a stickler, and enjoy the taste and friendly smiles! The servers have deep knowledge of what’s in front of you.

The take home desserts were a nice touch! If you’ve been to Peru and dined at the fine restaurants there you’ll appreciate how the chef has been able to import so many of the tastes and feel of Peru to the other side of the America’s. Still none of the bites felt otherworldly (to me) or something that I would want to reorder. But with a changing seasonal menu, perhaps that’s not the intent anyway!

I will say that traditional Peruvians visiting or living in the area might struggle with the inventiveness of the dishes which paid ode to home cooking yet chart their own course. So my recommendation would be to visit with a creative bunch that can have fun exploring and not comparing to grandma’s dish.

Also; they were very accommodating of a nut allergy at our table, which was appreciated.

As a footnote: In terms of the fish add-on: I will say the fish menu seemed extremely overpriced and overhyped by the servers, but it wasn’t bad, just basic. Sticking to the tasting menu should serve you just fine!

Ordered the pork belly skewers, cebiche Classico, daily special crab pasta and chocolate something dessert (forgot the name). The skewers were okay. Missus loves the ceviche and she’s still talking about it as we’re about to sleep! The crab pasta was the star of the night! Totally loved it.

Dessert was also good. Loved the ice cream it comes with.

Price was also not very expensive. 2 starters one main and a dessert costed us 106 and 20% tips included.

My friends and I went to Amazonia, the sister restaurant to Causa for dinner on Saturday night. Man oh man what a meal. Everything we has was absolutely delicious...the piscos, the skewers, the ceviche and the chaufa rice were my favorites. Come hungry and be prepared to share...you won't regret it!
